Isaiah 2:1-5
Isaiah 2:3 (NET) many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the Lord’s mountain, to the temple of the God of Jacob, so he can teach us his requirements, and we can follow his standards.†For Zion will be the center for moral instruction; the Lord will issue edicts from Jerusalem.
He can teach us His requirements and we can follow His standard
Christian meditation.
For general, meditation is known as Buddhism or Hinduism teaching. Then we know that Christianity has a long history about practicing meditation as a heart prayer.
I assume that the Western perspective after Christianity moved from Israel or the Middle East to Europe causes the Eastern thought like meditation or Desert Wisdom disappeared.
Then I found how Israel has seen the mountain has the same root with our ancestor/ Javanese early people's believe about Mountain is a sacred place to find a wisdom or spirituality source because God's Place is a mountain peak.
Today, this verse encourages me and makes it a strong foundation for the purpose of my meditation as a Christian.
When I come into the Silence, keep the stillness and hear the prayer word, it means that I am surrender in Him and ready for His tought.
When I close my eyes, run my Maranatha in my heart for 20 minutes a day, I am practicing to harmonize my life with Him where harmonize is a gift from Him. That is a wonderful fact about christian meditation for me. Salam
